'Schubertiade' in Greece: Piano Recital & Art Display

Updated: Oct 1, 2023

A *'Schubertiade' will happen in Greece too - for the first time ! It will include a piano recital and an art display.

This greatly anticipated and carefully and with love planned event will take place in the intimate and serene atmosphere of the freshly renovated and tastefully decorated 'Maria Joao Pires' hall.

In the true spirit of 'Schubertiades', the piano recital will be accompanied by an art display, featuring coloured illustrations from Xenia E. Zilli's book: 'COLOURING BOOK OF PATTERNS: Lotus Mandalas'.

There will be also a (limited) number of books available for purchase.

And, more .......................

The very first 'Schubertiade' in Greece will take you to a musical, artistic, and spiritual journey - one truly different experience which I am enthusiastically looking forward to share with you.

Come early, because there are only 50 seats available in the hall (ideal for the desired intimate atmosphere for music and art sharing in the spirit of 'Schubertiades' where the audience has an integral role in the whole creative process). Of course, if the weather permits, the double door to the beautifully maintained Mediterranean style garden will be open to accommodate more people.

Entrance is by donation - pay what you can - all in a continuous effort to bring music and art closer to people from all walks of life, and to people with different means.

Mark Saturday 30th September in your calendars.

Looking forward to see you soon ........................

I cannot thank enough everyone who was a part of this wonderful event - organisers, supporters, my mentors, my friends, my amazing son, and my wonderful audience, as together, we created one very special evening sparkling with magic, colours, and beautiful music. Till next time ...............

* A 'Schubertiade' is a music event, or a concert explicitly organized to celebrate the music of Franz Schubert. The first 'Schubertiades' held in the early 1820s were typically located in the private homes of Schubert's friends or fans. Generally hosted by wealthy families, these gatherings would include Schubert himself and often other notable musicians of the era. While much emphasis was placed on the music of Schubert, the 'Schubertiades' would often include other artistic presentations such as poetry reading, dancing, and games.

What other artist need a group of people to organise and execute, you can do alone. A polymath through and through! Congratulations and the very best wishes for your wonderful event. I know it will be excellent and something to remember.
