International Piano Workshops & Teaching Method

In my recent workshops I am offering an alternative to traditional piano master classes.

It is an open concept of explorative flexible learning, focusing on progress and development of the whole individual and creativity and freedom of expression, approaching that from many aspects, and using different methods.

My workshops usually consist of 2 parts per day:

1. AM (participants and listeners):

~ Pranayama (Breathing Exercises)

~ Nada Yoga (Sound Therapy)

More about Nada Yoga: read here

~ Chromotherapy (Colour Therapy)

More about Chromotherapy: read here

[ With Indian harmonium, Indian tampura, and various colouring media ]

Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours

2. PM (participants and optionally listeners):

~ Non-traditional 'master classes' often in collaboration with other pianists/piano educators. It is an innovative approach to traditional piano masterclasses and workshops where we learn through play, thorough experimenting, exploring and discovering, rather than being based only on teaching you 'how to'; where we work in synergy with health and yoga practitioners - something that has never been done before - to inspire, heal and finally empower you to become the best version of yourself as a pianist and as a person !

Our workshops are always different, depending on the participants and their needs, and also the place - we are able to adapt, alter, modify ... They are NEVER THE SAME,  however they are always highly creative, and always fun !

Duration: 3 - 4 hours with one short break

Number of participants and listeners: up to 10 participants, and optionally up to 20 listeners.

Note:

All workshops are conducted in English language with possible translations.

"Freedom to explore comes first, formats and rules second."

"Learning music is learning about life. You don’t learn how to play an instrument without learning how to discover music through yourself. Your relationship to the outside world is very important."

~ Maria João Pires

"Music and art thrive on curiosity, exploration, openness and freedom of expression, and should not be moulded to fit any ideal, any model, any idea, or anyone's concept."

"One does not play piano with one's fingers. One plays piano with one's entire body, mind, heart and soul. One plays piano with everything one has."

~ Xenia Elizabeth Zilli
