To be a pianist is NOT a job ! It is who we are.
We start playing at a very tender age of 3 - 5 and continue playing for many hours, every day, throughout our entire lives.
We do not have holidays or free days. WE PLAY EVERY DAY !
Because playing piano is an extension of ourselves. It is who we are. We cannot live without playing !

To bring profound emotional depth, and intellectual and spiritual insight to our playing, playing piano has to be OUR LIFE. It is a very large part of who we are.
So, if you never heard a pianist play, you really don't know much about him or her.
To know a pianist, you need to listen to them play.
