Hacked Facebook Account

On 1st of April 2025 (and I honestly believed it was April Fool's Day joke), I opened my PC and tried to log into my account just to get this message:

Needless to mention adamsaliza39176 is not my Instagram account and has never been ! I do have an Instagram account but with my real name - Xenia Elizabeth Zilli - xeniazilli, as every other account that I have everywhere. (I do not have any need to hide who I am, on the contrary, I am an artists who appears on the world stages publicly and a published author, so using some other name would be highly contra productive).

At the same time I received 2 emails from META stating that someone from Vietnam logged into my account and changed its email and Instagram address !

However, I could not appeal through the Instagram account they suggested because well - it has never been mine !!! , and of course I could not access it !

I have to add that I am unable to download my original copyrighted content from my old FB account account as indicated in META's message (picture above). The download starts but never finishes. (Speak about content theft and loss !!!)

So, I tried to appeal through my own Instagram account, through a new Facebook profile I had to create in order to reach my friends and report the issue, and through numerous Facebook contact emails that I found on the internet, but META never replied to me.

As a consequence I lost 16+ years of content, 2 business pages, one with thousands of followers, many groups, memories, connections and friends of many years who now hesitate to add me because they are not sure who is sending them the request. Also correspondence with dear friends who are not alive anymore.

All I ever posted on Facebook, and people know me there, are positive uplifting encouraging posts, music and art.

So my conclusion is that META platforms are unsafe and dangerous platforms where we can be easily hacked, our copyrighted content stolen, while the owners do absolutely nothing to protect either us or our content or connections.

Therefore this post, to let you all know what happened to my original profile and 2 business pages, and that I will not be posting anything of importance or value on those platforms any more. Luckily I do not depend on said platforms to promote my work, but I did have a lot of followers on Facebook who benefited from my posts as they kept telling me so. For that I am sincerely sorry.

I will not be accepting new contacts on META platforms from people I don't know, for obvious reasons.

It is very sad that it had to come to this, but we have to remind ourselves that our life is not something that happens on META platforms, and that it should not revolve around them either. The less they know about us - the better !

We should also not rely on META platforms to promote our work either, or post valuable content, because our accounts with a lot or work and private info could be hacked and personal/sensitive/copyrighted content stolen in a blink of an eye without valid explanation and without being given the chance to appeal. (META doesn't have any customer service we can turn to.) So, I sincerely advise you to find other ways to do that.

Establish real life connections with real people and institutions you can trust rather than soulless platforms that are managed by robots and people who can't care less about you or your work ! It is more effort and more time consuming but it is also more rewarding in the long run.
